The Swale Teaching School Alliance has developed from Fulston Manor's Cohort 2 bid to become a Teaching School in response to the Governments White Paper "The Importance of Teaching". Since March 2012 preparation has taken place to build capacity to be able to address the 'Big Six - the National Colleges priorities for Teaching Schools'.
The Teaching School company is set up with representatives from partnerships across the area including prior and secondary school, Higher Education Providers and an international Education consultancy with Fulston Manor being the lead school that brings these institutions together to make both strategic decisions as well and management decisions that are bespoke to the needs of the local area.
The National College has identified six priority areas for Teaching Schools including; School to School support, Initial Teacher Training, Research and Development, SLE designation and Brokerage and Succession Planning / Talent Management. More details regarding the role of teaching schools can be found on the DofE website.
