What Can Happen When A Teacher Changes His Tune

Students were recently shocked and surprised to see one of their teachers in an advert promoting the latest TV show, due to be shown sometime in 2018. Change Your Tune is a singing game show, hosted by Baz Ashmawy, and aimed at people who have no singing ability whatsoever. Computer Science teacher, Mr Wheeler, applied for the show as he had always been told by family and friends that his singing made their ears hurt and thought he’d give it a go. Not thinking he had any chance of being selected Mr Wheeler was one of the lucky 30 people chosen to have vocal coaching over the course of a few weeks and was then put on a stage to belt out his song to show how much improvement had been made. The time lapse format of the show means that viewers will get to see the transformations from tone deaf singers to polished performers in an instant.  The studio audience will vote for the winner of each episode but our talented member of staff remains tight lipped, for a change, about where he was placed in the competition.

A film crew visited Fulston Manor School before Christmas and a few Performing Arts students and staff took part in various scenarios to make the introduction story for his appearance on ITV1. Andrew Mackenzie, Chief Creative Officer of the Twofour Group ,who made the show, said: “Everyone would love to be able to sing and seeing the truly awful transformed into the truly awesome is an incredibly heart-warming and entertaining moment."
