Westminster Trip Enlightens Students

Year 10 students went on their annual trip to Parliament and the Supreme Court on Monday 4th March.

Year 10 students went on their annual trip to Parliament and the Supreme Court on Monday 4th March.  The  Citizenship students were privileged to be shown around on a grand tour of the Palace of Westminster, and visited the House of Lords. Coincidentally there was a Commons debate going on at Westminster regarding funding in schools at the same time as their visit but the students did not come across the members of Parliament discussing this issue! Olivia York said “We are looking into Law and Politics at school at the moment and covering the British voting system so this was a really interesting trip. I was, however, amazed at the fantastic architecture of the buildings and the history behind them. We are so lucky to have been able to visit such historically important places”
