Troy Feels The Need For Speed!

Troy Beswick, 16, left Fulston Manor School this summer to embark on what he hopes to be an amazing future career.

Troy Beswick, 16, left Fulston Manor School this summer to embark on what he hopes to be an amazing future career. Having worked hard at school and played hard at his chosen sport of Karting, Troy was talent spotted and asked to  apply to the MSA (Motorsport Assocation) Academy who work in association with Loughborough College. Troy’s application was one of 22 successful requests by over 300 hopefuls and so, quite rightly, Troy and his family are very proud of his achievement. The aim now is for Troy to complete at Le Mans Endurance race by the age of 21 but he has to prove himself beforehand driving, next year, in the Ginetta GT5 Challenge in the UK and potentially one in Belgium – widely known as the breeding ground for future professional drivers with TV coverage on ITV and Motors TV, with complimentary hospitality at all events, PR and social media opportunities and access. Following this he will aim for the Lamborghini Super Trefeo Championships run across Europe, Asia and North America. Hopefully Troy would then compete in the Blancpain GT3 championship with Lamborghini,  as a Lamborghini factory driver and from there progress to World Endurance / Le Mans again as a Lamborghini driver.

It will be an exhausting journey for Troy and also an expensive one. Mum, Kate, said “ If any company out there would like to sponsor Troy by way of funding part of the budget ie. Testing days or a couple of race weekends then I would very much like to get them involved. We can offer sponsors great  brand awareness in the way of logos on cars, helmet, race suit and, possibly, within the team awnings which can offer hospitality at race weekends and would next year be at the main UK circuits ie. Brands Hatch, Silverstone, as the Ginetta GT5 races alongside the British Touring Car Season. The series for next year is broadcast on ITV and Motors TV and also some features on BT Sport.   Another area is that Troy and team are happy and able to organise events for a potential sponsor company ie. take the car and driver to their base for an event / attraction to the business.   Troy is very aware of “giving back” to clients, quite media and business savvy !   I shouldn’t say it but he scrubs up OK and can converse well!!” Troy had this message for students at school “I am really happy to have taken this route but in Motorsports it is always vital to keep options open; Work Hard, then harder again, always progress up the ladder and get to where you want to be!”.
