Two students spent the weekend dancing their hearts out and brought home the medals. Stanhope students Grace and Esme travelled to Mill in Holland for the Dutch Open Hip Hop Championships with their dance company, Inspirations Dance Group. Both girls have been dancing for over three years and were training every day up until the competition, they will now cut back to 4 or 5 days training per week. Grace took a 1st place in her solo dance and both girls took 1st place for their due category. Esme added to her medal by taking 3rd in her solo Hip Hop. Considering that there were over 81 dancers from 11 different countries participating the girls were more than happy with the outcome. Both girls, talking at once, said “It was an amazing weekend. We thought we would go just for the experience and didn’t expect to be bringing back medals, let alone the top ones! We are ecstatic!”
