Fulston Manor School A Fulston Manor Academies Trust School

Activities Week

Activities Week is usually the penultimate week of each academic year. This week is full of fun activities that stretch students and take them, sometimes, out of their comfort zones whilst aiding the development of their skills. Years after leaving school, it is not uncommon for our students to recall stories from their experiences gained during these 5 days.

Year 7 and 8s spend time with other students whose paths may never normally cross and team work, fun, education, crafts and general enjoyment is to be had throughout the week. Year 9 Camp is often a highlight of a student’s life at Fulston Manor. A residential week spent participating in anything from canoeing to climbing to team work ensures that the students return exhausted but exhilarated. Year 10s are sent off into the big wide world of employment where they learn invaluable skills through work experience. Careers have been forged from these weeks with frequent job offers being made for suitable young people.

This year will be called ‘The Dragon’s Apprentice’, students will have the opportunity to build their own business to compete against others and ultimately present their work to the Fulston ‘dragons’.  This will require shrewd business skills, teamwork and dedication. The students will have a day long workshop from Ryman’s to prepare them for this
