School Captain's Welcome

Welcome from Evan McDermott, School Captain.

Hello, my name is Evan McDermott, and I am one of the current School Captains at Fulston Manor.

I joined the Fulston Family in 2019 and, like my sister before me, became a member of Hales House. My favourite subjects include Art, History and Religious Studies.

Since joining Fulston, I have taken advantage of the many different opportunities and experiences available to me, alongside daily lessons, such as extra-curricular clubs and activities covering a wide range of interests and skills.

Before becoming School Captain, I was a House Prefect, White Badge Prefect and Red Tie Prefect, all of which helped me to develop the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding for my role as School Captain.

I enjoyed being a member of the Samba Band in the Performing Arts department and taking part in the Canterbury Festival as well as Spring and Winter Festivals at school. I also had a fantastic time at the famous Year 9 Camp, where we spent a week taking part in lots of activities.  When I started Year 10, I was presented with the opportunity of working towards my bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and am now just about to start my silver award as I finish my GCSE year and hope to join the 6th form at Fulston Manor. To achieve this qualification, I had to demonstrate a commitment to volunteering, regular physical activity and the development of a specific skill, all of which culminated in an overnight expedition.

I am proud to have been chosen to represent Fulston Manor as School Captain and look forward to representing the Fulston Family with pride throughout Year 11.
