Canterbury Festival

For another year running Fulston Manor School’s Samba Band were invited to perform as part of Canterbury Festival’s opening parade. Canterbury Festival is Kent’s International Arts Festival, the largest festival of arts and culture in the region, and one of the most important cultural events in the South East. Performing in this festival was an amazing opportunity for the students to be involved in a high profile event that attracts over 70,000 people each year, and they embraced this challenge with enthusiasm. The students took the festival by storm, providing an energetic and engaging musical element to the procession. With their colourful outfits, face paints and chanting ‘Fulston’ at key points during the piece, the students really raised the excitement of the event and have already been asked back next year. The parade was a great success and those who observed were highly impressed with the instrumental skills and professionalism of all involved.
