Term 1

Year 8: Ice Creams (about 8 weeks)

  • Developing observational drawing skills
  • To experiment with mark making through drawing using oil pastels and colouring pencils
  • To be influenced by artists’ work through application of colour and composition
Term 2

Year 8: Portraits (about 10 lessons)

  • Developing observational drawing skills
  • Developing use of 2D media such as pencil and paint
  • Using keywords, linking to relevant artists work
Term 3

Year 8: African Masks (about 8 Lessons)

  • To continue to develop drawing skills.
  • To experiment with mark making through 2D and 3D techniques.
  • To be influenced by African masks and pattern when making a low relief card mask in response
Term 4

Year 8: African Masks (about 8 Lessons)

  • To continue to develop drawing skills.
  • To experiment with mark making through 2D and 3D techniques.
  • To be influenced by African masks and pattern when making a low relief card mask in response
Term 5

Year 8: Dragons (About 8 lessons)

  • To use and source material creatively to inspire own work
  • To use a range of 2D and 3D skills showing developing skill and understanding
  • To use key words linking to dragon artefacts and artwork from around the world
Term 6

Year 8: Rousseau (About 10 lessons)

  • To show through drawing developing control when blending to create texture and 3D form
  • To experiment with composition
