Sports Awards are only available for current Year 6 students who are applying for Year 7 admission.

Candidates for a Sports Award will take part in a selection process at the school. The first part of this process is a practical assessment. Candidates who are shortlisted following this will be invited to proceed to stage two, where they will be given the opportunity to discuss their sporting achievements and plans for the future.

10% of all places are reserved for students who show a particular aptitude for either sport or performing arts and students who qualify under this category do not need to satisfy any of the other admission criteria.

Those accepted on a Sports Award will be expected to participate in a range of sports in their time as a student involving themselves fully in extra-curricular clubs and teams. It is also expected that they will consider seriously opting for G.C.S.E Physical Education in Year 10.

This year, the schedule for the awards is earlier than in previous years. Please be aware that any applications need to be completed by 9th October 2026. The selection process will commence the week after.
