School Opening Hours and Extended Provision

Core School Day

The official school opening hours are:

• Start of School Day: 8:40am
   
• End of School Day: 3:10pm

This equates to 6 hours and 30 minutes per day, totalling 32 hours and 30 minutes per week (based on a five-day school week).
These hours ensure that the school meets statutory teaching time requirements and provide sufficient time for the delivery of the national curriculum.

Extended Provision and Additional Hours

To support students’ learning and wellbeing beyond the core school day, the following provision is in place:

Breakfast Club

• Time: From 8:00am
• Availability: Open to all students
• Purpose: Provides a safe, supervised environment to promote punctuality and readiness to learn.

After-School Clubs

• A range of after-school clubs is offered, running until 4:10pm.
• Clubs are organised in line with the extra-curricular activities timetable and aim to enhance personal development, wellbeing, and engagement.

Compulsory After-School Workshops

• Year Groups: Year 11 and Year 13
• Time: Until 4:10pm
• Attendance is compulsory to support examination preparation and consolidate learning, in line with the school’s academic progress and achievement strategies.

Sixth Form Study Zone

• Availability: Sixth Form students only
• Opening Times: 8:00am – 5:30pm
• Provides a structured, supervised space for independent study, research, and completion of coursework, promoting academic resilience and responsibility.
