Staff decided to surprise the students by joining in with World Book Day and dressed as their favourite book character. Students enjoyed seeing Snow White and her ‘Three’ Dwarfs, Alice in Wonderland, The Grinch and many more. Mr Brookes dressed as The Illustrated Man, which caused much amusement as he walked through the students with his sleeves rolled up! It was a case of ‘Mr Brookes has tattoos????!!!!!”. The Prize for the most dedicated teacher must go to Mr Spedding, English, who dressed as Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, shaving off half of his beard to complete the look! The teachers were organised by Mrs Silver who said “It was great to see students start to talk about characters from books and really engage with the staff about them”.
