Cycle-to-School Permit Conditions

Your child's bicycle must be in a roadworthy condition and a cycle helmet that conforms to current regulations, is the correct size and is securely fastened must be worn. (UK Highway Code 2017).

Please ensure that your child is clearly visible to other road users when riding to and from school and is reminded that bicycles may only be ridden on the road and on cycle tracks. Students must not cycle on pavements. Failure to adhere to the above condition could result in the cycle permit being withdrawn.

A lock must be used to secure the bike to the racks in school. Whilst every reasonable effort is made to ensure the security of the bike whilst on school premises, we cannot accept any liability for loss or damage.

On receipt of the online application form, your child will receive a cycle permit and will be allowed to ride their bicycle to school.
