Year 7 Cromer student, Lois, recently represented Kent in the Inter County Squash Finals in Nottingham. Lois has been playing for about 16 months but has progressed quickly and is the youngest player in the U13’s Girls team. She is hoping to be playing at Number 1 for the team later this year when her team turn 13 and move to the U15’s squad. Lois trains at Rodmersham Squash Club about 3-4 times a week and this certainly is her passion, following in the footsteps of her father and mother. Lois said “Dad’s really good and Mum’s getting better. I was really nervous about playing in my first tournament but enjoyed the whole experience”. Dad, Mr Woods, added “Unfortunately the team didn’t win this time but Lois did pick up a game in her first match and played really well against more experienced players. She is booked into 4 tournaments along with her younger brother over the next couple of months, in West Worthing, a couple in Surrey, and one in Tunbridge Wells - these should get her into the national ranking list”.
