Stanhope student Lucy Wakelin has recently been chosen to play in the U17 Kent Cricket Ladies team. Participating in four weekly trials leading up to the announcement on Friday 19^th October, Lucy was ecstatic to have been given the chance to continue her passion for the sport and, in particular, bowling. She will now spend the next two years working on her own strategies on how to improve her game and will then, hopefully, progress to the cricket academy and, ultimately, to the Kent Cricket Ladies team. Lucy said, “ the next two years will be great and the guidance I am given will add another dimension to improving my game”. But, for now, Lucy will be training indoors until the 2019 cricket season starts.
