Year 13 student Nathan Ottaway was delighted to receive an email on Monday 26^th November advising him that, after two years of hard slog, he had achieved the top accolade – his Duke Of Edinburgh Gold Award. Nathan has spent the last year volunteering with the Beavers Scout Group, increasing his skills in the tenor horn where he passed his grade 4 exam and has spent 6 months swimming weekly to complete his physical activity task. Nathan said “I have so enjoyed completing all of the tasks and am looking forward to actually receiving the award now which will be held at either St. James’ Palace or Buckingham Palace. I have learnt new skills and enjoyed it all. I would really recommend everyone to consider taking up this challenge”.
