As part of National Careers Week and National Apprenticeship Week, the school held our own Careers Week from 4 – 8 March. During the week, all students in Years 9 and 12 received careers focused content in their lessons, explaining how each subject could help with their future career progression and pathways. Teachers outlined the ways in which the knowledge and skills developed in their lessons can lead into different careers, and answered questions about the relevance of their subjects in the wider world.
In addition, a programme of lunchtime guest speakers was arranged, and students from all year groups were invited to drop in to hear them speak about their own careers or the opportunities available in their employment sector. Over 240 students availed themselves of this opportunity to develop their understanding of the following career areas, and the school would like to thank all of the outside speakers for giving up their time to come in.
