21 year old Jack left Fulston in 2015 and has, since then, followed his dream of joining the Police Force. He studied Citizenship and A Level Law at Fulston and chose to enrol in, and graduate from, a Uniformed Public Services course at Canterbury College. This was a two year course, one at Swale Campus and one at the main campus in Canterbury itself.
Jack said “ I have wanted to become a Police Officer from a young age, my father’s side of my family were nearly all in the Police Service so it was a natural route to take. I have always loved the idea of being able to help people especially in their time of need, as well as being able to give advice etc. For me this meant that the role of a Police Officer would be a fantastic career choice!”. He continued “ The good thing about a role in the police is that there are always different pathways to different areas of the service. I am due to join IMU (Investigation Management Unit) in September and the job role includes me being in close contact with those who have been victim to a crime and to help look at evidence of a case. I wish to go on to become a regular Police Officer before going into specialist areas such as Traffic or FLO (Family Liaison Officer) within the next 5-10 years.
