On 11th September 6 girls from Year 12 at Fulston Manor were in attendance at the European Grasstrack Finals at Swingfield near to Folkestone. Donna Collins, Mum of Abbi, said “My father was a former British champion in the Grasstrack and I was asked if Abbi and her friends would like to do it. They jumped at the chance”. The girls had the important task of being start line girls to the stars of Grasstrack. Twelve of the best Grasstrack crews, along with eight of the top British  Sidecars teams competed on the day and, off the track, there was a Fun Fair, food stalls, beer tent and Saturday night entertainment featuring the Night Fever Disco. The day was a hot and dusty one and each girl wore a brightly coloured t shirt carrying a matching umbrella  to shade their riders before the race. The girls had a fabulous fun-filled day meeting new people and championing their chosen riders. Holly and Abbi both said “We had such a laugh throughout the day and got free food in the members tent which was brilliant!”
