Over the weekend of 22^nd and 23^rd April four Year 9 students flew to Barcelona to embark on the U15 Barcelona Cup 2017. Joining their other team mates from Woodcoombe Youth Football Club Under 14s, they played in the international tournament winning all of their matches against teams from France and Ireland. Kai, Ben J, Lee and Ben all and agreed that it was an amazing trip but were sad to lose in the final against Gibraltar by 2-1, but ecstatic that they had reached the finals especially considering they were playing an older group. It was through hard work and determination that the team ended up playing in the older category and Lee said “Altogether is was a brilliant weekend. We all enjoyed it and it was a great experience”.
