Admissions

If you are reading this, it is likely that you are currently in the process of choosing a secondary school for your son or daughter and I hope that the following will be of use to you. This can be a stressful time and there is no doubt that the decision you are making is a very important one so please do not hesitate to contact us at any time between now and the October deadline should you have any questions at all regarding either the procedure or the school itself. May I take this opportunity to emphasise the importance of completing the local authority admission form by the deadline specified by them and also of ensuring that you place your selected schools in preference order. I will say more about this on Open Days but there were problems for some parents last year who missed the deadline and therefore had to appeal for places that would have been allocated automatically had they followed the correct procedure.

As will be clear from my remarks on the Information page of the website (which you will have passed to get to this page), we are very clear as a school that our core purpose is to develop the individual talents and strengths of all our students. We are also committed to doing so within a positive and happy environment, believing that producing young men and women equipped to take their place in society is every bit as important as securing outstanding examination grades, important though those are too. For this reason, I would encourage you to attend one of our Open Days in October in order to meet our students and sample the atmosphere of the school during a normal working day. You are welcome to attend any one of the four sessions on offer but, in order to manage numbers, listed below are suggested times for the majority of our feeder schools.

Behind the other tabs on the Information page is a wealth of information which should answer many of your questions before you visit. I would also encourage you to browse the other sections of the website in order to acquire more of the flavour of the school. Whilst this cannot replace first-hand experience it will hopefully allow you to appreciate a little of what goes to make Fulston Manor such a popular and successful school. We would never seek to claim that Fulston Manor is “better” than other local schools but there is no doubt that all schools are different and our intention is to provide you with as much information as possible in order to ensure that, when you make your choice, the school chosen is the one in which your child will be happiest and most successful in the years to come.

Please read the Admissions Policy for further information.  This can be found by using the link to the left of this page to the Admissions Policy.

Below are PDF versions of the forms that the school may require you to fill out when applying for admission to Fulston Manor School.
