Our Curriculum Intent

The aim of the History curriculum at Fulston Manor School is to make our students into inquisitive, analytical and evaluative people.  The breadth of topics covered ensures that our students have a worldly knowledge and can make links  between events and time periods.  This means that we cover a huge time period from Year 7 to Year 13 and throughout this time we teach the students different historical skills to ensure that they are able to be successful at both GCSE and A-Level. Our aim is for our students to develop a passion for the study of History.

What Will Students Learn In Each Year?

The links below give a detailed breakdown of what is taught in the the curriculum for each year.

Accommodation and Resources

We have brand new classrooms with 25 laptops available for students. We also have historical artefacts such as gas masks and medals from World War II. We also have historical costumes for use in role play!

Extra Curricular Activities

We run many trips within the department. This includes a trip to London for those studying GCSE and a trip to Canterbury Cathedral to those studying A-level. At Key Stage 3 we also run many trips including one to the Battlefields in Ypres and Canterbury.
